AL RUSTAQ: The Department of Heritage and Tourism in Al Batinah South Governorate is preparing for the summer tourism season. This year, a significant influx of local tourists is expected in Al Batinah South Governorate, a prominent tourist destination in the Sultanate of Oman renowned for its abundant natural and cultural tourism opportunities. Recently, numerous hotels and resorts have been unveiled in the governorate to accommodate the growing number of visitors. Additionally, several fortresses and castles have recently been reopened following extensive renovation efforts.
Dr. Al Mutasim al Hilali, Director of the Department of Heritage and Tourism in Al Batinah North Governorate, emphasized that the department consistently monitors the quality of services provided to visitors throughout the year and takes necessary measures to enhance the quality and sustainability of the tourism experience. The department supports all initiatives aimed at stimulating tourism within the governorate by organizing promotional activities for tourist destinations across the region, particularly highlighting attractions that offer pleasant weather during the summer season.
The Department of Heritage and Tourism in Al Batinah North Governorate strives to develop year-round tourist events within the governorate. While the winter season traditionally hosts most events, the ministry is also keen on organizing tourist activities during the summer season, aligning with peak visitor periods and vacation time. This was exemplified during the Eid Al Fitr holiday last April when private companies initiated three events in Al Rustaq Public Park, an event at the outdoor square of Nakhal Fort, and another event at Wadi Al Maawil Park.
